We are waiting…

What are you waiting for as we enter into this last weekend of November 2025?

Is all you want a certain, inevitable, Christmas pop-song? (Or, perhaps, counting down the days until you no longer need to hear it everywhere you go…) Do you dread the thought of enduring a long-winter as you also dream of a snow-white Christmas?

Sorry to be the bearer of bed news, but it’s not Christmastime. It’s more like waiting-time. You are going to have to wait a little bit longer for Christmas, proper.

But, hey! At least you know when Christmastime will arrive. (Spoiler! It’s December 25th…)

To contrast, we are coming up on two thousand years since a rag-tag group of men and women watched as their master, teacher, and the very Lord of all the world ascended into the heavens. They were told that he would arrive again just as he left.

Then the waiting began. And, alas! No ETA was given. Followers of Jesus continue to wait, to this day, for his prophesied arrival .

ARRIVAL Sermon Series main graphic

This Sunday we begin a series reflecting on the prophesied advent of Jesus.

We are waiting for something huge. Something far greater than a gift-exchange… and it has been a very long time.

No one knows how much longer until Jesus shows up as was prophesied by the angels who foretold of his second arrival nearly two-thousand years ago. And as we wait we need hope to sustain us. Tangible hope.

This week, we will explore just that. Hope for people who long for justice. For the world to be made right. For healing from all brokenness. For evil to be rid of once and for all. For the return of Jesus.

Join us Sunday at 10:00 AM Eastern at Cornwall Wesleyan Church as we practice waiting together for Jesus, finding hope together in Jesus, and living and loving like Jesus together.

I hope to see you there.

Grace and peace.
